THE FIRST VISA PLATINUM CARD IN ROMANIA, OFERED BY BANCA TRANSILVANIA: LUXERY SERVICES FOR EXCLUSIVE CLIENTS
Banca Transilvania launched, on February, 7, within a press conference in Bucharest, the first Platinum card on the Romanian market, Visa Platinum. This premium product is designed for the most sophisticated clients of the bank and ensuring accordingly tailored services, being created to offer major advantages to a certain category of persons who opt for BT's services.
Robert C. Rekkers, CEO and Gabriela Nistor, Retail Banking Manager participated on behalf of Banca Transilvania to this event, Visa International being represented by Catalin Cretu, Vice-President, Romania & Bulgaria.
Having a Visa Platinum card on the market emphasizes the achievement of a certain maturity level of the cards market in Romania, thus, through a correct segmentation clients can benefit from differentiated, additional services and Banca Transilvania, as a major player on this segment, decided to offer a unique premium card in Romania.

Visa Platinum card is designed for corporations' top management, business men, people with a select social status, who dispose of net monthly incomes of over EUR 3,500. Owners of this card will be able to commit a credit line in the amount of EUR 30,000.
Visa Platinum Card offered by Banca Transilvania is an attractive lending product, with a grace period of up to 56 days. Furthermore, the card can be used anywhere in the world where the Visa mark appears, allowing the withdrawal of cash from over a million ATMs and offering the possibility to purchase products and acquire services from 30 million retailers, without any additional fees.
Persons holding Visa Platinum card will benefit of special services such as: card replacement or cash disbursement - in emergency cases, special insurance products during travels (life insurance, accident and medical insurance, luggage insurance, flight insurance).
Along with Visa Platinum, the clients will receive other two cards, Priority Pass and Priority Traveller due to the collaboration between Banca Transilvania and Priority Collection. AEGON AND BANCA TRANSILVANIA TO FORM PARTNERSHIP IN ROMANIA
AEGON and Banca Transilvania have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop and operate a mandatory pension company in Romania. The 50-50 joint venture company will be established during the summer of 2007 in anticipation of the mandatory pension system, which is expected to be operational in Romania by early 2008. In addition, AEGON will establish a life insurance company in Romania that will enter into a distribution agreement with Banca Transilvania to sell co-branded products through the bank's extensive network of 340 branches. The pension company will be based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Shepard, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board of AEGON N.V. stated, "We are delighted to fulfill our intention to enter Romania with such a strong and respected partner as Banca Transilvania. BANCA TRANSILVANIA STENGTHENS ITS PRESENCE ON THE LEASING MARKET
Following the purchase and share subscription of MEDICREDIT LEASING IFN S.A., Banca Transilvania currently owns 38,89% of its share capital. The company's object of activity is operational and financial leasing for the purchase of medical equipment. Moreover, following capital placement performed through BT Investments SRL - a company of BANCA TRANSILVANIA Financial Group - BT owns 51% of the share capital of BT FINOP LEASING IFN S.A., whose activity consists of financial intermediation.
Banca Transilvania currently owns 13.191 nominal shares within S.C. MEDICREDIT LEASING IFN S.A, in amount of RON 1.319.100, amount subscribed and fully paid-in by the bank at 20.12.2006. The bank has the possibility to purchase until 31.07.2007, at least 50% + 1 share of the share capital of S.C. MEDICREDIT LEASING IFN S.A., becoming the main company shareholder.
The object of these purchases is to strengthen BT's presence in the leasing field, by performing operational and financial leasing activities, as well as leasing designed for the medical field.

BANCA TRANSILVANIA, THE BANK OF THE YEAR 2006
Banca Transilvania has been granted the award The Bank of the year 2006, by Capital Magazine, with the occasion of «Oskar Capital» Gala Awards.
This important award symbolizes the recognition of a successful year for the bank, a key step for what the bank represents: commitment, performance, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit. Banca Transilvania aimed to convert the year 2006 into a year of quality in all fields: services, products and staff. One of the bank's objectives is to maintain its high quality standards, in the conditions of aggressive competition, thus making a difference on the market.
Banca Transilvania reached a market share of 4.5 %, in terms of assets, being situated on the 5th place among banks operating in Romania; moreover, BT is the only bank with majority private local capital in the top 10 banks. Also, the number of active clients - individual and companies- exceeds 750,000, due to the bank's complex offer of products and services launched periodically, extension of local network and last but not least employees' involvement in the overall activity.
A significant increase was registered in number of units, thus bringing BT even closer to its clients. Currently, the bank performs its activity in 325 branches and agencies, covering the main economic areas in the country. In 2006, the bank opened over 100 locations launching also in Timisoara BT CafèTM and Italian Desk - office designed for Italian business people in the respective area. All these new operational units mean new work places - almost 189 employees are hired per month, BT's team reaching currently 4,500 persons.
BT's three main business lines - retail, SMEs and corporate - continued to develop products thus anticipating the trend, products boosted by specialised personnel. For the Romanian entrepreneurs, the bank launched every three month, according to its strategy, specific products: "SCONTARE 100%", "Banking subscription", "Romania's Entrepreneurs Club" and soon "Housing loans without down payment for SMEs" Corporate clients which perform at least 50% of the account movements via Banca Transilvania, benefit beginning with this year, of the "Business Account", which comprises specialised services, in order to offer this category of clients a special treatment, worthy of "business class". As for individual clients, they benefit as well of new products, such as: "Savings account" or "0% interest loan without instalments", as well as campaigns designed to attract and retain clients.
Banca Transilvania continued to be in 2006 one of the most attractive companies listed at Bucharest Stock Exchange. Important financing lines with different destinations, from international financial institutions were contracted.
Because Banca Transilvania is all about commitment to people, it got involved in the community's life, thus contributing, this year only, with over EUR 400,000 in 150 different projects: education, environment, and sports. BANCA TRANSILVANIA LAUNCHED PRODUCT NR. 8 FOR SMEs
One of BT's main objectives is to support the Romanian entrepreneurial spirit. As part of this strategy, the bank launches quarterly, a product designed for Romanian entrepreneurs.
Product no. 8, Housing loans without down payment for SMEs, was launched on 29 November 2006 in Bucharest within a press conference; this product, enhanced and improved the portfolio designed for SMEs and is considered a novelty on the Romanian banking market and is designed for the companies willing to perform a real estate investment.
Ionut Patrahau, DCEE of Banca Transilvania, stated: "We grow in the future. We are an optimistic bank for optimistic clients. We take advantage of opportunities that sometimes do not occur twice and we believe that Romanian entrepreneurs should do the same. By investing in real estate they have higher chances to win. So do us. "
Housing loans without down payment for SMEs are a lending product designed for real estate purchasing such as: company lodging, business offices, - including medical offices, notary offices, commercial outlets, in-town lands. Via this new product, the bank supports the growth of Romanian entrepreneur's activities, thus covering the company's financing needs related to real estate investments. A new office, a more visible and modern location, land purchase - are important elements for business enhancement. All these can be fulfilled by contracting BT's Housing loans without down payment for SMEs.
The attractiveness of this product is also enriched by the generous lending period, up to 15 years and more, and the fact that no down payment is required. Maximum granted amount for this product is of EUR 200,000 (RON equivalent)
Product no. 8 for SMEs, launched by Banca Transilvania, is designed for Romanian entrepreneurs - current and potential BT customers, with a turnover up to 1,5 million RON, as well as for licensed individual clients.
This product is linked to the entrepreneur's desire to purchase a real estate property for the company. The opportunity comes from BT, minimum conditions required for this product being: company's turnover must be positive, the company must register operational profit - according to the last balance sheet; the borrower was not registered in OPI with more than three major incidents in the last 6 months and it can issue banking cheques; loans contracted in the last 12 months are not registered in BBR with debt service A, and the company must be financially stable.
Banca Transilvania developed in a short period a diversified portfolio of products and services designed for Romanian entrepreneurs: 1 ORA rapid loans package, START Up loan, 0% interest loan, Scontare 100%, Banking subscription. BANCA TRANSILVANIA OPENED BT CAFÉ IN TIMISOARA
Banca Transilvania launched its first banking coffee shop in Timisoara on 16 November 2006, being the third city, after Bucharest and Constanta, where BT extends its brand. BT's target is to open other BT Café coffee shops in several big cities, in order to offer current and potential customers an unconventional business environment, where "business has a different taste".
BT café is located in Piata Unirii, 2 Palanca Street and has a capacity of over 30 seats, the coffee shop being open from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 - 24:00, and Saturday from 11:00 to 24:00.
Next to Bt Café coffee shop, Banca Transilvania opened Baroc Agency, unit which will ensure a wide range of services for individual and company clients. Moreover, the customers will benefit of consultancy both in insurance and brokerage field from qualified staff within Banca Transilvania Financial Group. Thus, through BT Café TM, BT meets the requirements of more sophisticated market, offering integrated financial services.

BANCA TRANSILVANIA, THE MOST VALUABLE COMPANY WITH DOMESTIC PRIVATE CAPITAL
Banca Transilvania received the prize "the most valuable company with domestic private capital" within the gala "Premiile ZiarulUI Financiar". The ceremony took place at Athenee Palace Hilton on 14 November 2006.
Banca Transilvania was represented by Mr. Robert C. Rekkers CEO. In his speech, Mr. Rekkers stated that this was one of the most important awards received by the bank, as BT started its activity as a local bank, proving its flexibility, openness and commitment towards community, as well after its network extension. Moreover, Mr. Rekkers outlined that Banca Transilvania's values are given by its financial performance, clients and shareholders' trust in the bank, and last but not least Mr. Rekkers insisted to thank the entire bank's staff for its ongoing support.

ROMANIAN ENTREPRENEURS CLUB ACCOUNTS FOR 2,000 MEMBERS
Romanian entrepreneurs club, founded by Banca Transilvania, has currently 2,000 members. The club was recently launched, on September 28, 2006 in Cluj-Napoca and October 3, 2006 in Bucharest, offering a new concept on the Romanian banking market - consultancy and training for the bank's customers.
1,200 members in 28 cities participated in the organized seminars, the feedback being a very positive one.
Among 2,023 members, 10% are not BT's clients.

BANCA TRANSILVANIA WINS INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT - €60 million loan by international institutions to finance development |

Banca Transilvania has won far-reaching international support for its ambitious development plans. The German development finance institution DEG - Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE), International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are providing Romania's fifth largest bank with a €60 million subordinated loan. The total financing is to be granted in five equal and parallel portions of €12 million each.
The package is part of a larger financing programme to help sustain Banca Transilvania's substantial growth and ambitious development plans. The bank is particularly strong in the small and medium-sized enterprises and retail sectors. The international loan follows a recent capital increase which raised €35 million primarily from the bank's local small shareholders. The EBRD which with a 15 per cent-stake is the bank's largest single shareholder also participated in this capital increase.
Hildegard Gacek, EBRD Director for Romania, said the loan will mark a further step in Banca Transilvania's development as a key bank in Romania and its recognition by the international banking market. Supporting the bank with its extensive branch network will help to make a substantial contribution to the development of financial services in the country. Customers stand to benefit from the ensuing increase in competition.

By strengthening the Bank's Tier 2 capital, the subordinated loan provides a vital support for the Bank's planned growth of its loan portfolio.

Banca Transilvania was granted the award "You choose, Banca Transilvania makes the commitment", within "People for People" Gala, for the project carried out in Bucharest on 27 October 2006. The event had as objective Romanian companies' social involvement recognition and was organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania, the Community Relations Association, Vodafone, Lafarge Romania and JTI, under the patronage of the Romanian Presidency.
Robert C. Rekkers, CEO, stated: "It is a great honor for Banca Transilvania to be awarded for social involvement. By this project, involving four Transylvanian communities, we only return to the citizens a part of what we receive every day"
Banca Transilvania entered into the competition "People for People", at the category "Company's community projects", with the campaign "You choose, Banca Transilvania makes the commitment". This campaign was carried out in March 2006 in Alba Iulia, Bistri?a, Deva and Sibiu. With the help of local authorities were selected three projects of general interest, which needed financial support. Banca Transilvania allocated a total amount of EUR 280,000 for the unfolding of these projects. Citizens were invited to vote the suitable project at BT units. Over 68,000 people decided the destination of funds granted by the bank. Thus, citizens from Sibiu elected the modernization of "Astra" park, those from Bistrita the refurbishment of "Corneliu Baba" Art High school, Alba Iulia decided to renovate the city centre and "I.L.Caragiale" and "Lucian Blaga" parks and Deva opted for the building of a runway in "Cetate" stadium.
The evaluation criteria for the community programs awarded within "People for People" Gala were the following: budget commitment for projects with quantifiable results; company's constant involvement on strategic directions within the community; observation of good practice and ethics. The jury consisted of: Lafarge Romania, Vodafone Foundation, Civil Society Development Foundation, Citigroup Romania and NewsIn.

Banca Transilvania intends to repay customer's fidelity and encourage card usage for POS payment, by launching the campaign "You hold a BT card, you can win an Alfa Romeo", between 23rd October- 22nd December. MasterCard FORTE and Visa GOLD users, as well bank's customers who use the card to pay for services and products at retailers, in the country or abroad can participate in this promotion. Enter this promotion with transactions in minimum amount of 10 RON.
Clients can benefit from "free" shopping, daily being drawn lots worth the counter value of the performed transaction, without exceeding 1.000 RON. Moreover, the great prize is an Alfa Romeo GT Impression car, worth over EUR 23.000, which can be won at the final drawing on 4th of January 2007.
MasterCard FORTE, issued by Banca Transilvania, is one of the most attractive credit cards, having a credit line of over 5.000 EURO (lei equivalent) with a grace period of 55 days. In addition, it is the only card which offers a grace period at cash withdrawal. It is a credit card in lei, with international usage, designed for individuals. It can be used both in the country and abroad, where the Master card sign appears, both for on-line, off-line and Internet transactions. Visa GOLD is a premium card designed for individuals with high incomes, being a sign of special social recognition. Visa Gold is a lei credit card, used both in the country and abroad, wherever the Visa sign appears, both for cash withdrawal and retail shopping. Besides the generous credit line of EUR 10.000, in lei equivalent, the card offers other services: emergency cash withdrawal and a complex insurance package. As well, Visa Gold clients have a series of advantages for payments performed at retailers who belong to a special network.
Banca Transilvania issued 820.000 cards so far, of which around 44.000 are credit cards. The bank has an important market share of 9,5%, on the card segment.

BANCA TRANSILVANIA GRANTS LOANS IN LEI AND FCY TO INDIVIDUALS WORKING |

Starting from this month, Banca Transilvania grants loans in lei and FCY also to people working abroad. These are mainly housing, but also personal loans, our bank thus considering the large number of Romanian citizens working in other countries. In this respect, Banca Transilvania provides individuals operating abroad - including ship personnel - with housing loans in lei or FCY, respectively needs loans with mortgage, SOLUTIA BT.
The housing loan is designed for land, house or appartment purchase, as well as for financing house refurbishment. The lending period is of maximum 25 years - for loans in lei - and 20 years - in case of FCY loans. The minimum amount granted is EUR 1.500, or the equivalent in RON, respectively in USD; the maximum loan limit is EUR 100.000 (or the equivalent in USD), for loans granted in FCY, or EUR 250.000 (the equivalent in RON), for loans granted in lei. Another means of financial support provided by Banca Transilvania for Romanian citizens working abroad and intending to purchase a house in Romania, is the housing loan with fixed interest, granted in lei, for a period up to 25 years. Another product designed for such individuals is SOLUTIA BT, granted for a period of maximum 25 years.
The principle which led to the extension of BT portfolio of products and services with these new products designed for individuals working abroad, is represented by the main factor of influence on the labour market, that is mobility.

The Romanian Entrepreneur's Club, founded by Banca Transilvania and recently inaugurated in Cluj-Napoca (28 September 2006) and Bucharest (3 October 2006), already counts over 500 members.
This feedback emphasizes the high interest of small entrepreneurs in this concept, besides the other six products for small entrepreneurs launched by Banca Transilvania in less than two years.
The trainings organized by the Romanian Entrepreneur's Club started between 9 - 15 October 2006 and were carried out in Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu and Targu-Mures, focusing on topics of interest for those who already started business, such as efficient negotiating and selling. Until the end of this year, trainings will be extended in 20 cities of the country.

BANCA TRANSILVANIA LAUNCHED ROMANIAN ENTREPRENEURS CLUB |

Banca Transilvania has familiarized its clients with the launch, every 3 months, of a new product designed for its SME clients and collaborators. The bank has recently launched a new market concept, which is more than a simple product: the Romanian Entrepreneurs Club. The official inauguration of the club took place both in Cluj-Napoca (28 September 2006, at Maestro Business Center) and Bucharest (3 October 2006, at Novotel Bucharest City Centre).
Within this year, the Romanian Entrepreneurs Club is going to host in 20 largest cities, at least 40 training courses, as well as 15 conferences and events with the participation of BT specialists. A number of about 4.000 participants are expected in the remaining three months of this year and over 15.000 in 2007.
The Romanian Entrepreneurs Club is addressed to all members of entrepreneurial community, and mainly to BT clients, who shall enjoy a particular status, benefiting of free and discounted services from the club. Subscription to the Romanian Entrepreneurs Club can be performed within the 315 BT units across the country, or cost-free on site www.btclub.ro. The club provides training programs fully or partially subsidized, financial-banking consultancy, and support for the implementation of financing programs from EU funds. To these facilities, we can add the possibility for Romanian entrepreneurs to participate at seminars and conferences debating relevant issues for the entrepreneurial community.
The official opening of the Romanian Entrepreneurs Club represented for Banca Transilvania a proper time to meet with clients, collaborators and mass-media - both from Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest. The event in Bucharest was marked by the participation and speech of Mrs. Hildegard Gaceck, BERD Manager for Romania, who is also Honorable Chairman of the Romanian Entrepreneurs Club.

4th of October 2006 was the official date of launching within a press conference, organized in Bucharest, of Compania de Factoring IFN SA. It is a member of Factor Chain International (FCI) and is the first company specialized in this type of services. The company was established by Intermarket Bank Vienna and Banca Transilvania, each owing 50% of shares.
Factoring or invoice financing with due dates are products specially designed for SMEs. In Romania, the average reimbursement term for the invoices related to performed deliveries or supplied services is between 30 and 60 days. Therefore, in most of the cases, these provisions determine a lack of liquidity for suppliers.
Products supplied by Compania de Factoring IFN S.A. are designed both for domestic and international market by RON financing of invoices, respectively EURO financing for Romanian exports with due dates. The company's offer covers the entire range of factoring products and services: due date invoice financing, management and collection of chasings, protection against debtor's default risk.
Intermarket Bank Viena, one of the founders of Compania de Factoring IFN SA, is a market leader in Central and Eastern Europe, in factoring, having a market share of 31% as well as branches in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania. Banca Transilvania owns 50% of the company's shares and because of its constant concern with regards to the SME sector, the bank choose to get involved in factoring.

BANCA TRANSILVANIA ENCOURAGES SAVINGS |

Banca Transilvania increased the interest paid for the 210 - day Deposit, at 8% per year, the product becoming in this way one of the most attractive savings products on the market. The product is designated both for individuals and companies; the bank is not requesting any additional fee at the opening. Moreover, the interest is fixed for the entire deposit's tenor.
The deposit's tenor is atypical, Banca Transilvania choosing a different one, compared to the classic deposits, following it intention to better adjust its offer to the clients needs.
Banca Transilvania has a wide range of saving products in its portfolio, offered through an extended territorial network of 290 operational units all over the country.
The Bank's policy with respect to the deposits opened by its customers is based on the idea of offering real positive interests so that all clients can really gain.
