Banca Transilvania is the first bank in the world, and implicitly, the first organization in Romania to use Exadata Database Machine V2 integrated system via the partnership with Oracle Romania and Trend Import - Export. This system, product of Oracle and Sun, is the fastest server in the world for data storage, online transactions processing and data warehousing applications.

This smart storage software will allow the bank to assist the clients in the shortest time possible, to constantly support innovation and provide professional services.

Robert C. Rekkers, Banca Transilvania CEO, stated: "BT, Oracle, and Trend Import - Export have built over time a strong partnership. Banca Transilvania focuses on several projects as part of the IT strategy, this year. BT intends to replace the card application and perform an upgrade of the Internet Banking application.

Sun Oracle Data Base Machine offers increased performance and scalability for all data base applications. Tudor Iliescu, Trend Import - Export CEO, states: „After a series of meetings presenting Exadata in Cluj in 2008, Banca Transilvania decided to test Data Warehouse, using its own data, at Oracle ETC Reading, England, in the summer of 2009. Test results were excellent, the system being able to obtain from 10 to 72 times better storage timing than the solution available at that point. Consequently Banca Transilvania started the implementation process of a new product based on Exadata V2. Trend performed the implementation as Oracle Gold partner".
