Banca Transilvania Supports “Green” Investments

BT, the first bank in Romania who provides energy efficiency solutions from EBRD funds
Banca Transilvania (BT) grants energy efficiency loans for the residential sector, from funds of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Likewise, BT performs a campaign in cooperation with eMAG in order to encourage the purchase of highly energy-efficient equipment. The offers come with added value for the clients, the environment and the economy, being part of the bank’s support for green investments, as an environmentally friendly player.
The EUR 40 million granted to Banca Transilvania by EBRD are part of the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF). The Green Economy Financing Facility has been launched by EBRD today, June 27, in Bucharest and it refers to the support of the residential and business sector for investments in energy efficiency projects targeting the residential buildings in Romania.
Details on BT’s offer for “green” investments:
- The BT real-estate/mortgage loan for energy efficiency: granted in RON or EURO, for a period of 5-30 years; interest rate discount: for RON loans -0.25 % vs. the standard interest rate + ROBOR 6M, and for EUR loans -0.50% vs. the standard interest rate +EURIBOR 6M; the analysis fee is zero.
- BT-eMAG campaign (valid until July 26, 2017): for the full or installment-based purchase from eMAG with BT’s STAR card, of a fridge, freezer of A/C equipment, energy rating A++, of minimum RON 500, the BT client receives a gift card from eMAG, in amount of RON 50 to be used for the next online purchase from the same store. The products in this campaign are signaled as such on the eMAG site.
These offers represent a new opportunity for Banca Transilvania to support the Romanian entrepreneurial spirit and a healthy and sustainable economy growth.
The “Environmentally Friendly BT” activities also include: communication and advertising materials printed on recycles paper; daylight sensors in BT’s billboards and lightboxes, expired cards (≈400 kg/month) scrapped in accordance with the EU regulations; BT’s Headquarters certified by BREEAM as „Very good” – Sustainable Build Environment, volunteering activities among the bank’s employees such as the planting of Transylvania Forest, in 2014 - 2016, a period in which 120,000 trees were planted on an area of 30 hectares.
