BT Asset Management enters the shareholding of AnimaWings

BT Asset Management S.A.I.enters the shareholding AnimaWings (Anima Wings S.A.), at a moment when the airline is accelerating development by increasing the fleet and the number of domestic and international destinations.

The signing of the agreement took place in Bucharest, at the headquarters of AnimaWings. The agreement will go through the necessary stages of analysis and approval by the Competition Council and the Commission for the Examination of Foreign Direct Investments. The acquisition is assisted by Filip & Company and PwC Romania, with the involvement of a dedicated team within the Financial Group Banca Transilvania. The transaction will be finalized after receiving the necessary approvals from the authorities.

AnimaWings, country project

The partnership represents an investment in Romania, in a context where the private sector is the engine of economic growth. The financial strength of BT Asset Management, alongside the operational experience and competitive advantages of the airline company, will contribute to the development of a strong regional player and a national project.

AnimaWings will support the growth of Romania's connectivity with European tourist and economic centers, as well as Romanians abroad with the country. It will also contribute to attracting tourists and boosting the development of the business environment.

AnimaWings Plans

Founded in 2020, AnimaWings is a 100% Romanian airline, developed within the Memento Group, alongside the tour operator Christian Tour. The current fleet includes 7 modern Airbus aircraft, and the plan is to expand it to 14 by the end of 2027.

In the summer season, the company will have 60 routes to 30 destinations, covering both domestic flights - between Bucharest and the major regional economic centers: Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara and Oradea - as well as main European routes, such as London, Paris, Munich, Milan, Istanbul, Prague, Athens, Stockholm, and Geneva.

For BT Asset Management, investment means diversifying the portfolio and supporting a strategic industry for Romania. The company of the Banca Transilvania Financial Group is the leader in the asset management market by the value of assets under management, which exceed 10 billion lei, as well as by the number of investors, approximately 475,000.
