Banca Transilvania launches a first in Europe, in the BT Pay app: the virtual card with animated design
- The animated virtual card is intended for online payments and is issued exclusively through BT Pay.
- BT Pay also comes with other new options that help customers save, increase their credit on the card, and have access to current accounts, regardless of their currency.
- One of the new features, the possibility to add all current accounts opened at Banca Transilvania to the application, has transformed BT Pay from a wallet into a mobile banking application and now means a 360 experience, with access to current accounts and BT cards.
- The application has a new design, with all the basic options on the main screen.
Banca Transilvania, in collaboration with Visa, launches, for the first time in Europe, the virtual card with animated design. It is a debit card, in lei, for individuals, which can be used from the application BT Pay, exclusively for online payments.
We are pleased to mark a European first, through the animated design of our new product, and to add the virtual card among the options we offer to customers. Those who have such a card are in control when shopping online, can better manage their budget, and can also be environmentally friendly. The experience is as simple as can be: the card is issued instantly and can be used immediately, funded from another BT card in BT Pay, the details for online payments are at hand, and payment confirmation is also done through the app, states Oana Ilaș, Deputy General Manager Retail Banking, Banca Transilvania.
We are delighted to be partners of Banca Transilvania to launch the virtual card with animated design. According to the latest study conducted by Visa regarding mobile payments in Romania, there is a growing percentage of customers who are willing to use only the virtual card, without issuing a physical one, and who expect an improved user experience. At Visa, we believe that diversifying payment methods is important and we constantly innovate to offer consumers and merchants fast, convenient, and secure ways to pay and be paid. Mobile payments, in-store or online, are among the safest payment methods thanks to tokenization technology, which means replacing the card data that a customer enters into a mobile wallet with a unique set of numbers, adding an additional level of security , says Elena Ungureanu, Country Manager for Visa in Romania.
What new features does BT Pay bring
BT Pay has a new design, the main novelty being that the basic and newly launched features appear on the main screen, making access more intuitive.
New options in the app:
- Increase of credit on the card: după parcurgerea etapelor online, în aproximativ 10 minute, banii sunt disponibili imediat.
- Saving with Round-Up: the spent amount is rounded up to 1, 5 or 10 lei and is automatically moved to a separate savings account, for which an interest of 5.25%/year is received. If the rounding threshold is 10 lei, for a payment of 3.5 lei, the round-up is 6.5 lei, an amount that will be automatically transferred to the Round-Up savings account.
- Adding BT current accounts, regardless of currency: clients can check their balances and transaction history from the last 30 days. They can also transfer money (lei) to their own accounts or to other people, and they can set up recurring payments.
The application can be downloaded for free from Google Play, App Store or Huawei App Gallery. Details about BT Pay functionalities can be found at the BT website and on Question BT, and about the new design of the application, on BT Blog.
