25 years ago, without pomp, but with much courage and with a capital of 2 million dollars, 46 entrepreneurs founded one of the most successful stories of Romanian capital development – Banca Transilvania, today, the largest financial group in Romania, with over 31,000 shareholders.

With entrepreneurship in its DNA, through work, enthusiasm, and investments in people, technology, and infrastructure, during this time BT has grown from a team of 13 people to a financial group with over 10,000 employees in 500 units, in over 180 localities in three countries. From the first client to over 3 million clients, of whom 700,000 are credited. From the first operation to over 2 million operations that take place daily through the bank. From the first entrepreneur client, to creating the largest ecosystem supporting SMEs in Romania. And at crossroads moments, the bank reinvented itself, adapted, and moved forward.

Development - this is the word that best describes BT's evolution: we have grown year by year as a bank, in the number of financed clients, in the number of employees, but especially as unique competencies in financing the national economy, having today equity capital of 1.5 billion euros. We wanted and succeeded to become one of the pillars on which Romania's development rests and we know that we have responsibility towards depositors and society.

We finance hospitals, factories, schools, state and private universities, dams and hydroelectric plants, highways and veterinary clinics, as well as hundreds of thousands of people. We support just as many plans and dreams of Romanians. We are the largest institutional financier of the State through taxes and government securities, as well as of the Romanian business environment. We do this with the capital and thanks to the skills accumulated over 25 years, here, in our country.

This is just the beginning. The story goes on.
