Transilvania Bank supports Antibiotice company's investment plans with 67 million euros

Transilvania Bank supports the investment plans of Antibiotics Iași, the largest producer of generic medicines with majority Romanian capital, through a funding of 67 million euros, aimed at continuing the development of two essential projects for the pharmaceutical industry:

  • „Production capacity, packaging and storage of sterile products, solutions and topicals” is one of the most important investment projects developed by Antibiotice Iași in recent years. Through this investment, the company strengthens its strategic role in the segment of topical products and sterile solutions both at the national level and on external markets, by diversifying the portfolio of essential medicines intended for hospitals. The project contributes to increasing the resilience of the health system and ensuring the availability of essential therapeutic solutions, with a direct impact on saving people's lives. The project was initiated with funding from European Investment Bank in Romania through the InvestEU program and also benefits from non-reimbursable funds granted by the Ministry of Finance.

  • INOVA Research and Development Center and the new critical medicines production unit represents a strategic investment, with major impact on the health security of Romania and Europe. The project contributes to strengthening Romania's capacity to locally produce critical medicines, reducing dependence on external supply chains and supporting the European Union's objectives regarding strategic autonomy in the health sector. This investment strengthens the long-term growth prospects of the company Antibiotice, through the development of innovation capacities, expansion of the product portfolio, and increased competitiveness in international markets. The project also includes a non-reimbursable funds component granted through the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, through the program STEP (Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform).

Financing marks a new stage in the collaboration between the two companies and supports the implementation of investments with strategic impact for the pharmaceutical industry in Romania.

We are honored to support the development plans that Antibiotice has, by financing strategic projects both for the company and for the entire Romanian medical ecosystem. This financing reconfirms Banca Transilvania's commitment to supporting Romania's champion companies, which generate value, innovation, and impact in people's lives.
