On Black Friday, November 7, 2025, Transilvania Bank reached new records regarding transactions made through its payment ecosystem, including cards, applications, POS terminals, and ATMs.
BT is the main payment processor in Romania, due to the size of the business and the significant volume of operations managed through its channels. With an extensive and scalable digital infrastructure, the bank supports the growth of both online and physical commerce, ensuring the flow of transactions even during peak moments, such as Black Friday.
Records of Transilvania Bank:
- 11 million transactions were processed in a single day, +14% compared to Black Friday 2024.
- Over 700,000 transactions/hour were recorded for nine consecutive hours (between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.).
- With over 1 million transactions, the golden hour was between 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM.
- 230 transactions through BT meant every second of Black Friday, with a maximum of over 500.
- +17% number of online shopping purchases in installments, compared to Black Friday 2024.
The largest purchases with the BT card, on the occasion of Black Friday, were premium purchases in the auto, watches, and furniture categories.
BT Pay:
Through the BT Pay application, customers benefit from functionalities that ensure fast payments and simplified card management, including instant card issuance and modification of transaction limits. Compared to Black Friday 2024, the number of transactions made through the option Pay with BT Pay was four times larger, this functionality now being available on 30,000 partner sites.
BT ecosystem built around cards
Banca Transilvania has an entire ecosystem built around cards, which includes the STAR program, the application BT Pay, eCommerce processing platform (BTeComm), partnerships with merchants, an extensive network of POS terminals and ATMs.
