Banca Transilvania comes with new solutions that help Romanians living abroad manage their money in different currencies and do banking from anywhere and anytime, through the application BT Pay:
- Receiving the physical card by courier in Italy, Spain, Germany, Great Britain and the Republic of Moldova.
- Adding cards issued by other banks or fintechs from over 30 countries in BT Pay.
- Funding the BT card from the app by transferring money from other cards enrolled in BT Pay, issued by banks and fintechs from abroad or Romania.
BT Pay is an accelerator for the financial connection of family members from different countries, as well as for the financial inclusion of Romanians everywhere. The degree of financial inclusion in Romania was 71% in 2024, according to Romanian Banking Association and Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategy .
Functionality Current account opening through BT Pay, with instant digital card, launched in January 2024, has brought so far to Banca Transilvania a considerable number of new clients, approximately 100,000, including Romanians from 26 countries .
BT Pay users have access to all the application's daily banking options immediately after opening the account and have the option to choose one of BT current account subscriptions. Most services associated with the current account and debit card are free of charge, including receiving the card in other countries. The fee is zero for transfers in lei or other currencies, between people who use BT Pay, as well as for payments with the BT digital or physical card, abroad or in Romania.
For Romanians living abroad, the bank has a dedicated Call Center team (+40264 303 003, contact@btrl.ro). They can also consult information on the website Question BT, financial education platform which, in 2024, was visited from abroad especially from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, France and the Republic of Moldova.
