Financial Group Banca Transilvania expands in the field of private pensions
Financial Group Banca Transilvania expands its financial services for over 3 million clients through an investment in the field of privately managed pensions: BT Asset Management S.A.I. (BTAM) and BT Investments acquire 100% of Certinvest Pensions.
Certinvest Pensions, the only local player among the pension fund administrators in Romania, manages over 75 million lei in a voluntary pension fund that has over 9,500 participants.
“Through this acquisition, BT's interest is directed towards stimulating long-term savings through the optional Pillar III pensions, but with growing demand among active individuals. We want the future BT pension company to become as relevant a player as possible also in this market segment, following the model of the companies we already have in the Banca Transilvania Financial Group,” declares Ömer Tetik, General Director, Transilvania Bank.
“In 2015, I took over the management company of the voluntary pension fund Pensia Mea, with the confidence that we can offer our clients an efficient long-term savings solution, which I developed with a team of professionals under the Certinvest brand, thus increasing the assets under management by over 90%. I am convinced that the choice of the largest financial group in Romania, Banca Transilvania Financial Group, to continue and develop the efforts made so far is for the benefit of the market and all parties involved, but especially the participants”, stated Eugen Voicu, Founding Shareholder, Certinvest Group.
After signing today's firm commitment, the next step is obtaining purchase approval from the Financial Supervisory Authority.
BT Asset Management S.A.I. is the company of the Banca Transilvania Financial Group, specialized in investment management through open and closed-end funds. BTAM currently has over 3.9 billion lei in assets, 14 open-end investment funds under management and over 40,000 clients. The transaction was assisted by BT Capital Partners, the investment banking and capital markets division of the Banca Transilvania Financial Group, the exclusive member in Romania of the international alliance Oaklins.
