Banca Transilvania and Mastercard launches the digital cards McLaren F1 Team Mastercard Debit (in lei) and McLaren F1 Team Mastercard Debit Gold (in euros, premium), issued by BT, the first cards in the world in partnership with the McLaren Formula 1 Team.

According to a study¹ Mastercard, 70% of cardholders want a card that rewards payments made for their passions. The McLaren F1 Team Mastercard cards, issued by BT, are designed to connect cardholders with their passion, every time they make a payment. Depending on the card type, the benefits include cashback offers correlated with the McLaren Formula 1 Team competitions, access to business lounges in Romania and Austria (Vienna), and on the platform priceless.com, discounts on shopping etc. (source 1: The Great Unlock, 2024)

Cards are debit, digital, issued and managed from the application BT Pay.

Due to the partnership with Mastercard, Banca Transilvania became this year Official Race Partner to the McLaren Formula 1 Team at the 2025 Lenovo Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, held in Budapest, on August 2 and 3, 2025. The McLaren Formula 1 team, composed of the drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, will wear the BT and Mastercard logos on the helmet, on the steering wheel and on the MCL39 single-seater.

Persons who will use the McLaren F1 Team Mastercard cards, issued by BT, for purchases of at least 500 lei, until September 30, 2025, will automatically enter the draw for a unique experience at the McLaren Tech Center, in Great Britain.

• Experience alongside the McLaren Formula 1 Team at Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Campaign end: 31 July 2025.

Persons using one of the BT Mastercard cards (McLaren F1 Team Mastercard Debit in lei/euro, Star Forte, Mastercard Mondo, Mastercard Gold, Mastercard Direct, Mastercard Omnipass, and Mastercard Business) for purchases of at least 500 lei up to and including July 31, 2025, enter into McLaren F1 Team Experience draw at Autodromo Nazionale Monza , part of the campaign announced in June 2025.

The prize consists of the opportunity to complete a lap of the circuit alongside a professional racing driver, at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, before the competition.
