More and more Romanians are rallying to help through the Donate for the Frontline platform

The online platform Donate for the Front Line was launched a few days ago at the initiative of four Romanian companies — Banca Transilvania, Mobexpert, Bitdefender and eMAG. What have we set out to do together? To support those now on the front line: doctors and medical staff, the police, the army and the gendarmerie. To bring Romanians together in solidarity.

First, we stood together — BT, Mobexpert, Bitdefender and eMAG — and made an initial joint donation of 4 million lei. We are also involved day to day in procurement, distribution and running the donation platform https://www.emag.ro/doneaza.

We’ll keep you posted here as well on the good things we, Romanians, are achieving together:

April 10:

  • More than 350,000 FFP2 masks purchased with funds donated by the platform’s founders and by individual and corporate donors have arrived in Romania; they will go to front-line doctors across the country.
  • Real estate developer Genesis Property, owner of the Novo Park and West Gate office parks in Bucharest, donated 100,000 lei to support the platform’s activity and the purchase of supplies that will be distributed through the Department for Emergency Situations nationwide to staff in hospitals directly treating COVID-19 patients.

April 8:

  • More than 4 million masks purchased with donations on the Donate for the Front Line platform have been sent to those who need them most now.
  • Over 4,000 people have donated more than 350,000 lei.
  • A new shipment of 300,000 FFP2 masks for front-line medical staff will arrive in the country tomorrow on a Tarom aircraft converted to cargo.

April 7:

  • More than 2,500 people donated via the online platform in less than 24 hours from launch, contributing over 200,000 lei.
  • So far, 100 companies have joined the appeal launched by Banca Transilvania, Mobexpert, Bitdefender and eMAG.
  • An aircraft carrying more than 4 million masks arrived in Bucharest from China.

Information on donations and beneficiaries is updated in real time: www.emag.ro/doneaza/live.

Stay strong, Romania!
