ATMs aren’t what they used to be — in the best possible way. They’re getting smarter and can help you with more and more things, so you can manage your time and money more easily.

Withdrawing cash from an ATM without having your card on you once sounded too good to be true. Paying … bills at an ATM would have been another. Exchanging money? Today it’s (almost) routine if you come to one of the more than 1,500 ATMs we have across the country. There are so many that you probably have one next to your building, on the way home or at the mall. Did you know 240,000 transactions per day have been made at our ATMs this year? That’s around 10,000 per hour.

At BT, there are several types of ATMs. They have different “jobs” and “personalities” because they can do different things — and more and more of them. There are standard ATMs and multifunctional ATMs (BT Express and BT Express Plus).

20 things you can do at BT ATMs

There’s a lot you can do yourself, whenever it suits you, at our ATMs. Some you already know; some you might be discovering now. We’ve gathered a selection — the ones that also rank among customers’ favorites. They’ll come in handy.

Standard ATM
It’s the one you’ve known for a long time and it helps with the following:
• withdraw cash: with your card — either contactless or by inserting it into the ATM —, with your phone using BT Pay or Apple Pay, or with an SMS code generated in BT Pay or NEO;
• pay bills with your card or phone;
• check how much money you have in your account;
• activate your card and set your PIN;
• top up your prepaid mobile.

BT Express multifunctional ATM
It’s the reinvented Facturel 😊 (not just renamed) and we have about 470 nationwide. It helps with the following:
• deposit cash (lei/euros/dollars) into your own account or someone else’s;
• open a term deposit;
• check your account balance;
• receive your account statement by email;
• exchange foreign cash, with the funds credited to your BT account;
• make foreign exchange between your own accounts.

BT Express Plus multifunctional ATM
As the name suggests, it offers more. In fact, quite a bit more — it can do almost everything (coffee, not yet 😊). We have one in almost every branch or agency, or nearby. In total, there are over 500. Choose BT Express Plus if you want to:
• withdraw cash (with a card, contactless card, NFC-enabled phone + BT Pay, Apple Pay, or using a code generated in BT Pay);
• deposit cash (lei, EUR and USD) into your own account or someone else’s;
• exchange euro or US dollar cash into lei;
• pay bills by card;
• check your account balance;
• deposit lei, euros or dollars into any of your own current or loan accounts, using your bank card;
• deposit money with your BT card into a friend’s account (you just need their CNP);
• deposit money with a BT card into a company’s account, using the beneficiary’s CUI.
