BT Mic with Great People: Adriana Ruxandra Malanca
Adriana is one of the #OameniidelaBanca whose perfect mornings are the ones that start at 7 a.m., in the car, with a steaming coffee. And… Ruxandra is the upbeat girl who talks to you with an energetic tone, almost identical to the one she had in her teens, when she worked together with her now-husband at a local radio station in Gura Humorului.
You guessed it! Adriana and Ruxandra are, in fact, one and the same person — it’s just that friends and colleagues call her Adriana, while family call her Ruxandra.

Adriana has been Regional Microfinance Manager with BT Mic since 2019, and this year she marks four years in the BT family. She has worked with business clients for as long as she can remember: after graduating in Economics, she went straight into a loan officer role at the first bank she joined, and at the banks that followed she held business lending manager positions. Eventually, she joined us: “Somehow, I was always looking towards BT with a bit of a secret wish deep down. (...) I really wanted to get here.”
After joining BT, she was Branch Manager for a year and a half, then Head of the SME Unit for the same period, and later moved to BT Mic. She’s lived through many moments worth capturing, framing and hanging on the wall, because the job gives her the chance to discover the stories behind businesses that take your breath away:
“Especially in the times we’re all living through these days, if there isn’t a strong story behind the business and the entrepreneur isn’t sufficiently attached and involved in what they do, (the business) is harder to keep alive.”
Every day, Adriana helps various clients find financing solutions — and she truly understands them, because she’s an entrepreneur herself. After years of working with business clients, she and her husband decided to try their hand at their own venture which, as of now, is two years old: a bicycle shop.

“I came to understand, in practice, what I hear from clients every day: what the bureaucracy and paperwork mean to them — even their relationship with the bank. It helped me a lot, mentally, to go through the same things myself so I can better understand what clients have gone through over time.”
Paradoxically, since Adriana and Adrian (her husband) started their business, the two of them ride their bikes much less than they did back when they weren’t yet entrepreneurs.
Dear Adriana, you’re already imprinted in our hearts and minds as one of the #OameniidelaBanca we’re very fond of. We’re glad you’re part of the BT team! ❤
