In May 2017, the U-Banca Transilvania basketball team, which BT proudly supports, became Romanian champions after winning the final against Steaua CSM EximBank. U-Banca Transilvania is also the first team to win all three titles in the same year: the Romanian Cup, the Romanian Supercup and the Championship.

In the 2017-2018 season, U-Banca Transilvania will play in the Basketball Champions League, FIBA’s top club competition, as well as in the Romanian Men’s National Basketball League. U-BT Cluj-Napoca is set to play in the second qualifying round of the Basketball Champions League. A total of 56 teams will take part in the Basketball Champions League, 21 of them national champions. U-Banca Transilvania is among them.
