Why Banca Transilvania Loves Basketball. How It Became the Sport's Biggest Supporter

Basketball is one of the most popular and most loved sports. It builds teamwork, skill and agility. We wanted to contribute to all of that and gradually got involved.

A few years ago we were among the supporters of Cluj’s basketball club. We then broadened our involvement to encourage future generations of players, teaming up with Ghita Muresan to organize the “Ghita Muresan Summer Camp School” for children in several cities around the country. Last year we took a big step and became the main financial backer of the U-BT Cluj-Napoca Sports Club and the official sponsor of the Women’s National Basketball Team in the EuroBasket Women 2017 qualifying campaign.

More recently, we decided to raise our game alongside the Romanian Basketball Federation, with whom we achieved a European attendance record in the EuroBasket Women 2017 qualifiers: nearly 7,000 spectators attended the Romania–Turkey game held in Cluj-Napoca.

We look forward to the 2016–2017 season for both the Men’s and Women’s National Basketball Teams, as well as the Baby and Mini Basketball National Championship in Mangalia.
