Practical ideas for young people who want to become entrepreneurs
You can start learning entrepreneurship as early as school and university. That’s exactly what the nationwide caravan organised by the Romanian Business Leaders Foundation, “Vreau sa fiu Antreprenor”, aims to do: help future generations of business owners build their skills and learn more about entrepreneurship. BT supports entrepreneurship education among future generations and is a partner to this event. This isn’t the first edition of the caravan; to date, more than 100 events have been held in over 30 counties across Romania, giving 13,000 young people the chance to interact with entrepreneurs.
This year, “Vreau sa fiu Antreprenor” will be held in more than 25 locations across the country, and at each stop local entrepreneur-speakers are invited to share their life experience with those attending, whether they are pupils or students.
These real-life experiences shared by the speakers — showing what things are really like — surface a number of truly valuable ideas for those who want to step into the world of entrepreneurship. Among the most important ideas gathered so far are:
- you need courage to follow your dreams and turn your business idea into reality.
- it’s important to network as much as possible so you meet people with whom you can later build partnerships and collaborations.
- starting a business isn’t the hard part; what you do afterwards is. So make a longer-term plan.
- your reason for starting a business shouldn’t be to make money, gain power or have more free time, but to meet a real need in society.
What’s more, at the events pupils and students have the chance to hear others’ views on their business ideas and receive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
