Horia Ciorcilă, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Banca Transilvania, made the following remarks at the presentation of BT’s 2022 results:

It was a very challenging year, marked by the war in Ukraine and multiple economic uncertainties stemming from inflation and the energy crisis. Despite this difficult environment, Romania’s economy came through the period well. As for us, we continued to be the largest lender in Romania and the leading partner for the government programs launched in 2022. We also continued to invest in technology, digitalization and infrastructure, and we strengthened the position of the bank and the BT Group in the local market. The financial results confirm our expectations and form the basis for ambitious plans for the future. We remain vigilant and mindful of geopolitical and macroeconomic developments, while also being open to potential opportunities.
