BT Pensii marks a milestone: 100,000 participants in the Pensia Mea voluntary pension fund.

In 2024, the number of participants in this fund was 86% higher than in 2023, the fastest growth on the market.

The value of monthly contributions to the Pensia Mea fund doubled in 2024, reaching 9 million lei in December 2024, up from 4.45 million lei in December 2023. BT Pensii’s assets reached 290 million lei, +33% in 2024 versus 2023.

2024 was the best year in BT Pensii’s history, with growth across the board. The largest number of Romanians who started saving last year through a voluntary pension fund chose Pensia Mea — over 44,000, representing 36% of all those who joined Pillar III in 2024. By diversifying savings options, we support the future in Romania of those who work and save today, making them better prepared for tomorrow.

Most people who start saving through Pensia Mea — 47% — are aged 35 to 49, and 26% are 20 to 34. In both cases, the average monthly contribution is over 100 lei. One fifth of participants in the fund also receive an employer contribution.

Participants can access the amount accumulated in the Pensia Mea fund after the age of 60, in addition to the State pension and the mandatory private pension (Pillar II). The minimum contribution is 60 lei per month, and the maximum is 15% of gross monthly income; the amount can be changed at any time.

Part of the Banca Transilvania Group, BT Pensii is the only Romanian company on the voluntary pensions market.

Romania has 4.57 million retirees, with an average net pension of 2,803 lei. The number of participants in private pension funds has passed 9 million, of whom over 8.28 million contribute to Pillar II mandatory private pensions, and over 830,000 to Pillar III voluntary pensions.
