Transilvania Bank has reached the milestone of 6 million cards, in the period June 2022 – November 2023 marking the fastest growth in their number, 1 million. 1 out of 4 cards in circulation in Romania is issued by BT.

BT figures and trends:

• 25 transactions/second are made with BT cards, with a historic record of 260 transactions/second, marked this year, on Black Friday.
• +20% volume of shopping transactions with the bank's cards in the first 11 months of the year, compared to the similar period in 2022.
• Over 40% of purchases paid at POS with BT cards are made with the phone.
• Almost 60% of the cards issued by the bank are enrolled in BT Pay.
• Record/day: 10,600 cards were issued on August 1, 2023, of which 5,800 were BT Untold cards.
• 164,500 children and young people up to 18 years old have a BT card, and 90,000 have BT Pay.
• Over 95% of physical cards are environmentally friendly, made from recycled materials.

The most important BT launches in 2023 regarding cards and payment experiences:

• Animated virtual card – premiere in Europe;
• Animated virtual card BT Visa UNTOLD;
• BT Pay Kiddo, card and application for children over 10 years old and their parents;
• Complete travel experience: card issuance in euro, travel insurance and currency exchange.
