BT Pay has new features that make it easier to manage your money and cards from home. Banca Transilvania customers can add to the app cards issued in Romania by other banks and fintechs, can use their BT cards in digital form before receiving the physical ones, and have easy access to card information needed for online payments. The new version of the app is being rolled out gradually starting today, and users will see the update notice in the App Store and Google Play.

New BT Pay features and how they help customers

• Adding to the app cards issued in Romania, including by other banks and fintechs:
  • To transfer money between BT cards added in the app, or using a phone number to BT cards held by other BT Pay users.  
  • Funds are received instantly and there is no fee.

• A newly issued BT card, reissued on request or at expiry, appears in BT Pay in digital format before the customer receives the physical card:
  • The digital card is the equivalent of the physical one and can be used for contactless and online purchases. This helps customers have uninterrupted access to their cards and not depend on having the physical card in hand.
  • For BT customers whose card expires this month, the digital card appears in BT Pay starting on the 15th of the month.

• For each BT card added to BT Pay, details such as the card number, expiry date and CVV are displayed:
  • With this information at hand, customers can quickly complete online transactions — shopping, paying utilities, taxes and fees. CVV is the 3‑digit code printed on the back of the physical card.

• With BT Pay you can withdraw cash with your phone at all Banca Transilvania ATMs:
  • Tap the Withdraw cash button on the app’s home screen, choose the amount, then a code is generated and sent by SMS. At the ATM, select the Cardless cash button on the screen, enter the code received on your phone and the amount specified in the app.
  • Until now, contactless withdrawals were possible at certain ATMs by scanning in BT Pay the card you wanted to withdraw from.

Useful for those who want to start banking with Banca Transilvania from now on:

• Individuals can open a 100% online current account with BT via NEOcont and can request a debit card at the same time.
• By downloading the BT Pay app to their phone, customers can use the digital card that appears in the app before receiving the physical one by courier.

You don’t need to visit a branch to access BT Pay. The app can be downloaded free from Google Play Store or the App Store on Android and iOS smartphones, after which you add your cards online.
