Banca Transilvania is taking another step to support efforts against COVID-19 by introducing a donations option in BT Pay. App users can donate by phone to one of the NGOs BT is currently partnering with. The new version of the app is being rolled out gradually starting today, and users will see the update notice in the App Store and Google Play.

NGOs such as Fundatia eMAG, Salvati Copiii, Daruieste Viata, SMURD si Fundatia Ronald McDonald are working every day to prevent and limit the spread of the pandemic, as well as to broaden access to COVID-19 testing and treatment. To make it easier to choose where to donate, BT Pay shows details about the cause supported by each NGO and how the donation will be used.

Donations are simple. Here’s how:

• Tap the Support NGOs and donate button on the app’s home screen;
• Select an NGO;
• Transfer from a debit card, between 5 and 4,000 lei, with no fee.

BT customers can also donate to another organization, foundation or association that helps in the fight against the pandemic, beyond those currently shown in BT Pay, in which case the donation — the transfer made via BT Pay — is made using that NGO’s IBAN.

BT Pay helps more than 750,000 customers do their banking from home. The bank regularly adds features to the app; the latest include the ability to add to BT Pay cards issued in Romania by other banks and fintechs, access to BT cards in digital form before receiving the physical ones, and easy access to the details for each card, needed for online payments.

The BT Pay app is free to download from Google Play Store or App Store on Android and iOS smartphones, after which cards can be added online.
