Banca Transilvania continues to offer benefits to customers during this period, as part of the support measures announced at the start of the state of emergency. After, in March and April, individual customers with a credit card who were up to date with their minimum monthly payment had nothing to pay and no interest (a total grace period), BT is offering a new set of measures this month.

Customers with no past-due amounts on their card account will benefit in May from the following: 

• No minimum payment is due on the credit card.
• Interest is cut in half for customers who did not repay in full, between May 1–25 this year, the amount used up to the end of April this year on their credit card. The other half is covered by BT and does not create any future obligation for customers.

For example, a customer who at the end of April used 1,500 lei from their credit line would, under standard terms, have to make a 150 lei minimum payment by May 25. If during May they used on average 2,000 lei from the credit line, they would owe 40 lei in interest at the end of May. Thanks to the measures announced by the bank, in May the customer benefits as follows: they do not need to make the 150 lei minimum payment and they pay 20 lei in interest instead of 40 lei, provided they have no past-due amounts on their card account.

Otherwise, the card works as usual:

• For customers who choose to repay in full between May 1–25 the amount used as at the end of April this year, interest for May is zero.
• For those who made instalment transactions, instalments were paused in March and April this year and will resume from this month.
