Banca Transilvania is supporting sole traders (PFA) for whom this period is a particular challenge. BT individual customers can open a PFA account remotely, without coming to the bank.

With this account, PFAs can receive the state-funded technical unemployment benefit.

The steps are as follows:

• The PFA must already have an individual account open with Banca Transilvania;
• Call 0264 30 80 00;
• You will receive an SMS with a link to the BT Visual Help app;
• In BT Visual Help, select Individual, then from the main menu choose the option to open a PFA account;
• BT will contact the customer within 24 hours to complete the account opening;
• You will receive a link by email, valid for 72 hours, where you need to upload a set of scanned documents. The original documents must be submitted at any Banca Transilvania branch within 30 days after the state of emergency ends.

Documents required to open the account: 

For family enterprises, sole proprietorships and PFAs:

• Registration Certificate from the Trade Register;
• Decision/Resolution of registration issued by the Trade Register;
• The identity document of the authorized individual/the members of the sole proprietorship/the members of the family enterprise;
• Operating permit/certificate of status issued by the Trade Register under Law no. 359/2004, attesting that a statutory declaration has been filed confirming that operating conditions are met;
• Electronic extract from ONRC or the certificate of status from the Trade Register or another lawful register, issued no more than 30 days before submitting the account opening documents to the bank;
• Registration in another public register, where applicable.

For individual practices and/or associations of lawyers, bailiffs, insolvency practitioners, civil or professional partnerships, medical practices, pharmacists

• Articles of association/constitutive act or other documents regarding the form of organization, in line with the specific laws governing their activity;
• Proof of registration in the relevant professional registers (e.g. for pharmacists, the membership certificate issued by the Romanian College of Pharmacists);
• Tax registration certificate;
• Identity documents of the persons with authority to represent the entity.
