All set? Have you taken the plunge and decided to become an entrepreneur?

Opening a share capital account is one of the requirements you need to meet when you want to set up a company.

That’s because proof of opening the account and of depositing the minimum amount of RON 200 is one of the documents the Trade Register asks for when the company is incorporated.

And since you already have plenty of errands to run, we thought we’d help where we can. For instance, we can help you open your share capital account online, right from your office or from home. Oh, and we’ll also answer a few questions about it:

→ How much does it cost to open a share capital account?

It costs nothing. There’s zero opening fee, and accessing the share capital account doesn’t involve any charges.

→ How can I open a share capital account?

You can do it online or at any BT branch. Whatever’s easiest for you.

If you opt for the online route, you’ll get it done in 15 minutes. Go to the website and start the account opening process. Upload a photo of your ID or take one on the spot, enter the details of the company for which you want to open the share capital account, and upload a few documents (the Articles of Association, proof of company name reservation and, where applicable, a notarised power of attorney). We’ll also ask for your email address and phone number so we can get back to you quickly. Fund the account via iPay using your card, then e-sign all the documents you receive by email (the enrolment form, consent to data processing and the deposit slip). That’s it!

If you prefer #humanbanking and come to a BT branch, bring the Articles of Association, proof of company name reservation and your ID card — all originals. If someone else opens the account on your behalf, don’t forget the notarised power of attorney.

→ What happens to my account next?

Once the company is incorporated, you have two options: you can close the share capital account and open a current account to use for your company’s banking, or you can choose to keep the share capital account open.

→ How can I withdraw the money deposited in my share capital account?

You won’t be able to withdraw it, but you can transfer it to another current account.
