#OameniidelaBanca are the people who offer far more than guidance on loans, cards or savings accounts. They offer reassurance. They send everyone out with the energising drive to keep moving forward. That’s what you’ll take with you when you leave a BT office — especially if that office belongs to Raluca Sabadus.

When she found out she’d be doing an interview for this piece, Raluca had no idea what to say about herself, so she asked her 5-year-old daughter for advice. Daria said: “Mommy, tell them you’re happy.”

And she is happy: she has a wonderful little girl, a husband she’s been with, as she puts it, “forever,” and a job she looks forward to every day.

“I don’t wait for fabulous things from life to be happy. I think there’s always something around me I can draw on to feel fulfilled.”

Raluca heads a branch in Cluj and has hundreds of stories about people she finds truly beautiful: “For me, interacting with people is very important and I care deeply about their peace of mind.”

She looks after her colleagues’ well-being too, not just her clients’. Naturally calm, she stores up positive energy and passes it on through the soothing words she speaks. Raluca has a kind of “reset” power that lets her start every day from zero: “I believe that staying focused on what you’re doing at that moment helps you disconnect from everything else.”

Her ability to keep her eyes on the target has helped her a lot in her career. That — and coffee. 😉 Since 2014, apart from the two years she was on maternity leave, Raluca has started every workday at BT MANDATORILY with a mug of coffee. Only the people she shares her coffee with, the place and the title on her badge have changed: she started out as a business banking adviser, then became head of branch and later branch director.

Coffee is her little indulgence on weekends too, which she keeps entirely for family. What she wants most is quality time with her loved ones — that’s the big treat. On evenings when she’s not reading Daria a bedtime story, she’ll watch a series. Most recently she went back to Friends, a show close to her heart.

Decorating the new little house they’ve moved into is another thing Raluca enjoys. She loves setting off “on a mission” to home décor stores. Whatever the design debate, their home is the most beautiful place in the world — because it’s where the family is always together.
