Say goodbye to manually enrolling your cards, and to those repeated attempts to remember a password just when you need it most! We have good news. Starting November 8 this year, online transactions will become simpler and more secure, because your BT card will be enrolled automatically in the secure Mastercard ID Check system. And you won’t need to remember any password!

What should you keep in mind starting November 8?

1. The password you currently use to validate online transactions will be replaced with a convenient method that adds extra security — a one-time code sent by SMS for each transaction.
2. From November 8, the password you use today will no longer be valid. Until then, you can still use your current password and you can even enroll your card yourself here: Mastercard and Visa.
   
   

How will online shopping work with this change?

Just as it does today, after you select the product you’re buying online you’ll enter your card details. At merchants enrolled in Mastercard ID Check, an additional page will appear asking you to enter a password.

The difference is that you’ll receive a unique code for your transaction by SMS, which you’ll enter on that page. Once the code is verified, the payment will be completed quickly.

Please note, it’s important that the phone number in BT’s records is correct. Otherwise, you won’t be able to receive the SMS code.
