Banking apps are getting smarter and smarter, and it’s important to keep up. So, let’s talk about BT Pay and walk you through the most useful things you didn’t know you could do in the app.

1. All your cards have a home in BT Pay

No, they don’t have to be only BT cards — you can also add cards from other banks and fintechs, as long as they’re issued in Romania. The only “rule” is that you have at least one BT card — you know, so you can enjoy the app all day long!

2. Bank cards? Better yet, give them a name 😊

The card that makes you feel like a STAR, the instalments card or the miles card? Maybe the orange one or your business card? Just be creative! In BT Pay you can give each one a name. And yes, it’s even easier than it sounds: tap the card, press the ⚙ symbol and choose Change card name. Exactly — it really is that simple!

3. Card expired?

No worries. Use your digital card in BT Pay, at least until your new card arrives. Want to pay online? Perfect. The in‑app card shows every detail you need — from your new card number to the CVV code — all in one place. So until you stop by one of our branches to pick up the physical card, you’ve got everything handy on your phone.

4. Cash straight from your phone

You read that right! You can withdraw cash from BT ATMs straight from the app. In other words, you can safely leave your wallet at home — your money is secure and always accessible on your phone.

5. Get paid back in a few taps

That friend who always “forgets” to pay you back? Believe it or not, BT Pay has a fix for that too. Just go to Transfer money and, from the menu at the top of the screen, select Request.

6. PIN free

Remember that 4‑digit number you had to enter every time you paid by card? The best part is you don’t need it anymore. When you pay with BT Pay, you use only your phone’s unlock method to confirm the payment.

7. Pay online in 2 minutes

You don’t like typing every single digit of your card number when you pay online? Yeah, neither do we. So the easiest way is to copy‑paste from the app. How? Tap the card, press ⚙, choose Card details, long‑press the card number and you’re done — it’s already copied to your clipboard.

8. Benefits galore

If you have the BT meal card and aren’t sure where you can use it, here’s a tip. Open BT Pay, swipe to the meal card, tap it, then hit the ⚙ in the top right and select Card benefits. You’ll have the full list of places where you can pay with this card. And let’s not forget — you’ll also find other offers we’re currently running.

9. Smart spending

Why pay full price for the things you need? Especially when we’ve lined up exclusive discounts right in BT Pay. 5%, 10% or even 20% off sounds good, right? Should we also mention the vouchers that can go up to 200 lei? Maybe not — it’s much easier to open the Offers section in BT Pay and see them there.

❗ Tip: If you have the Star card, you get both the offer and 0% interest instalments. The important thing is to spend smart — and that’s how you get everything you need 😊.

10. Pls. HELP!

Card lost? Or stolen? OK — take a deep breath and let’s move quickly. Open the BT Pay app, tap the card, hit the ⚙ at the top and select Block card, then choose one of the options: Temporarily block card if it’s lost, or Permanently block this card if it’s been stolen.
