Cosmin Călin, Deputy CEO, Large Corporates, Structured Finance and Factoring, took part in the “Money in Motion” panel at the Forbes CEE Forum 2026, where the discussion focused on growth opportunities in the region, companies’ access to finance and the evolving expectations of clients of financial institutions. On this occasion, Cosmin Călin made the following remarks:

• Capital, from the smallest to the largest, has had to reinvent itself, and encouragingly we have transitioned from an economy focused on low value-added products and services to one driven by higher value-added, innovation and digitalisation.
  
  
• Romanian companies are champions in many sectors; we are talking increasingly strategically about regional expansion, unicorns and soon-to-be unicorns. As the main financiers of Romanian entrepreneurs, we have recently seen a great deal of interplay among all these themes.
  
  
• Lately, cash flow has become far more important than profit, and at BT we are working through our Large Corporates platform to build a solid growth base for SMEs.
  
  
• In any sector, as long as you find innovation, you can build.
  
  
• From the outset, BT’s strategic mission has been to support entrepreneurs, and in recent years our main focus has been to build a platform to facilitate SMEs’ access to capital — to competitive financing as a source of development. This platform has existed since BT’s early days and we refine it in line with local and regional economic realities.
