“Afaceri de la Zero”, the new project supported by Ziarul Financiar and Banca Transilvania, aims to spark entrepreneurial ideas and shine a light on lesser‑known businesses and business ideas that have grown nicely and gone on to succeed. The project is dedicated to small entrepreneurs, and each article is essentially a story about ambition, courage and determination. Their stories will be published daily in Ziarul Financiar and on the online platform.

In Romania there are over 500,000 microenterprises and small firms, companies with annual turnover of 70-80 billion euros, employing 1.7 million people.

With this project we want to highlight the power of new initiatives in the business environment, while also examining both the opportunities young entrepreneurs have spotted and the hurdles or risks they have faced along the way.

The project began with the Marsupi brand, a small business from Cluj-Napoca that makes baby carriers and exports over 90% of its products to countries such as England, Germany and France.

Another story is the Evo Glamping brand, started by Cristina and Florin Georgescu out of a passion for sewing and the outdoors. They make camping tents in a workshop near Bucharest, and this year they expect to double the turnover recorded in the previous year.

After discovering the story of Hipy Juices, we learned that organic sea-buckthorn juice can generate sales of 70,000 euros. This business started in Iași, entered the organic products niche and has become known nationwide.
