A video surprise from Banca Transilvania & Simona Halep, currently at the Australian Open: a feature about hard work, performance, teamwork, sacrifice and courage. About on-court training and training the mind.

The footage was shot in Dubai, ahead of the new season, and will be part of the first documentary about Simona Halep, world No. 1 for 64 weeks. The piece is directed by Radu Muntean.

Simona Halep on the Australian Open: “First of all, I’d like to win it because Darren Cahil is Australian. I think that would be something special. His family is there as well. I trained in Australia two years ago. I spent Christmas there, so I have a certain affinity with Australians because they’re relaxed people and they’ve always welcomed me warmly whenever I’ve played there. And I like the tournament — it’s the ‘Happy Slam’, that’s its nickname. My first semi-final at a Junior Grand Slam was in Australia. There’s a bit of history there”.

The first Grand Slam of the year runs from January 20 to February 2 this year. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Simona. Go, Romania!
