July was a month of records, firsts and a reaffirmation of leadership for BT. From the largest financing in BT’s history and the first agentic commerce project carried out together with Visa, to new milestones in savings, investments and private pensions, the month brought fresh opportunities to finance the economy, accelerated innovation and support for customers and communities.



#Financing



#Leadership

BT announced the extension of Chief Executive Officer Ömer Tetik’s mandate through 2030. In the first half of this year, the mandates of three other members of the bank’s executive management were renewed: George Călinescu – Deputy CEO, Finance; Oana Ilaș – Deputy CEO, Retail Banking; and Leontin Toderici – Deputy CEO, Operations.


 
#AI&Digitalization

  • Banca Transilvania and Visa completed the first payment initiated by an AI agent on a customer’s behalf, as part of the Visa Agentic Ready program.

  • Visa and Banca Transilvania will host in Bucharest, on November 3–4, the 2026 General Assembly of the WE BUILD Consortium, a European initiative dedicated to developing and testing the EU Digital Identity Wallet and the EU Business Wallet. The event will bring together 450 representatives of 200 organizations from 28 countries.

#Superbrand

Banca Transilvania is included in the Superbrands România 2026–2027 selection, an international program that recognizes brands valued for trust, relevance and the ability to create long‑term value.

In an interview with Financial Intelligence, Ömer Tetik, BT’s CEO, discussed the outlook for Romania’s economy.



#MacROZone

In July, BT’s macroeconomic analysis covered some of the most important topics for Romania’s competitiveness and development: public debt, demographics, energy and purchasing power.



#Community

Over 9,000 Romanian children and young people from the diaspora are taking part this summer in the 2026 ARC Camps. Banca Transilvania is supporting the program through financial education sessions designed to help participants build healthy financial habits and gain skills useful for the future.
