Being a couple, a family, also means managing a shared budget. Certain challenges can arise in situations such as a tight budget, big differences in earnings, different financial behavior among family members, different attitudes toward money, and making financial decisions. A budget managed by more than one person also needs to factor in plans, investments, any bank loans taken out, insurance, etc.

Here are five interesting things we learned about finances as a couple from Adrian Mitroi, a behavioral finance professor, invited to the Individual Investors Forum, which took place in Bucharest on March 18 and was attended by over 500 people:
