Banca Transilvania was named Bank of the Year in the cards market at the NOCASH Gala, for the 4th year in a row and the 8th time overall. The event took place on June 15 this year, at the Aula of the Romanian Banking Institute, and BT was represented by Adina Cobusceanu, Portfolio Manager, and Anca Daianu, Portfolio Manager.

In 2016, Banca Transilvania recorded an 11% increase in its card portfolio compared with 2015; 10.80% in card accounts; 10.44% in the number of ATMs; 25.77% in the number of POS terminals; and 24.16% in total transactions with BT-issued cards.

At the same gala, Banca Transilvania also received the following awards:

• “Issuer with the Most Active Credit Cards”

            -       Annual average number of transactions per credit card: 45.5

            -       Average annual spend per credit card: RON 14,000

• “Shopping Card of the Year – BT Visa Electron”

            -       Total number of Visa Electron payment transactions in 2016: 39.4 million

            -       Total value of spend on the Visa Electron card: RON 4,175 million

The NOCASH Gala is now in its 16th edition and is the most important annual event in the industry.
