3,000 Macroeconomic Research Reports Produced to Date by Banca Transilvania

3,000 macroeconomic analysis and forecasting reports have been published so far by Banca Transilvania. Since 2014, through these reports, BT has supported financial literacy as well as investment and consumption decisions. The reports cover global, European and domestic macro‑financial developments and short- and medium‑term macroeconomic outlooks, and are available free of charge online to anyone interested.

"With passion, dedication and perseverance, we strive to bring macroeconomic analysis and forecasting closer to the people who need this information. Day in, day out we analyse everything that drives markets, sectors and the economy as a whole, from domestic and external factors, taking a top‑down view from the global economy to the national economy. In economics, phenomena are interdependent and, if we know what to watch, we can make far better economic decisions. That’s why, in this respect, we’ve learned to be like a seismograph." – says Dr. Andrei Rădulescu, Director of Macroeconomic Analysis, Banca Transilvania.

Depending on the topic, the macroeconomic analysis reports are of six types: BT Daily (daily macro‑financial developments in Romania, the euro area, the US and China), BT Macro Focus (analyses developments in the main domestic, European and global macro‑financial indicators), BT Government Securities (a weekly look at the government securities market in Romania, Europe and the US), BT Banking Sector Update (a monthly analysis of the Romanian banking sector) and BT Monthly (sets out the medium‑term central macroeconomic scenario for Romania). Since 2018, Banca Transilvania has also produced reports on the economy of the Republic of Moldova, VB Weekly.

Producing such a report involves collecting macro‑financial information on the global economy, the euro area, Romania and the Republic of Moldova; processing it using econometric techniques; calibrating a central macroeconomic scenario; and drafting a synthesis of the analysis results. The reports can be found on the BT website and the Victoriabank website—a bank in the Republic of Moldova in which Banca Transilvania is a shareholder—and on the BT Twitter page.
