Travel insurance via BT Pay, 100% online
Banca Transilvania is launching a new feature for customers who prefer to bank on their phone and want to travel safely: Groupama insurance via BT Pay, 100% online, issued in about two minutes.
The option, unique on the Romanian market, is launched through a partnership between Banca Transilvania and Groupama. It covers an unlimited number of trips abroad or in Romania over a one-year period, and the price for the full-year cover is comparable to that of a one-week policy.
The feature will roll out gradually, over about two weeks, to all BT Pay users.
About the travel insurance:
- It is valid abroad and/or in Romania.
- The person purchasing travel insurance can also cover additional people, including children.
- The insurance in BT Pay is separate from the cover attached to Banca Transilvania premium cards and additionally includes:
- trip cancellation, including the cost of tickets to events (concerts, shows, museums, courses, conferences, etc.), trip interruption, and trip extension for a spouse if the insured person is hospitalised.
- coverage for seasonal sports, as well as accidental injuries resulting from participation in medium- and high-risk sports.
- the option to insure trips within Romania — not just abroad.
Oana Ilaș, Deputy CEO, Retail Banking, Banca Transilvania: “With this option we are taking another step towards bringing more of our customers’ needs together in BT Pay, and card use and insurance go hand in hand. The insurance is designed both for people who go on holiday once a year and for those who travel frequently. Beyond price and ease of purchase, the simplicity lies in the fact that once the insurance is activated, for one year our customers no longer need to worry when they travel.”
Călin Matei, Deputy General Manager, Groupama: “Anticipating our customers’ needs has always been one of our priorities, as has finding ways to respond to them as effectively as possible, consistently relying on digitalisation, simplicity and quality. Groupama insurance via BT Pay is such an innovation — 100% online, easy to use and designed to cover our customers’ real needs.”
BT customers’ habits: more trips, higher value of purchases abroad
A quarter of the value of purchases made with BT cards is spent abroad. Travel brings a need for protection while away, all the more so as the number of trips over the course of a year is also on the rise.
