Banca Transilvania is increasing interest rates on savings products in lei for individuals and companies. The increase, between 1.50% and 2.75%, reflects the bank’s responsibility to safeguard and fairly remunerate customers’ funds in this challenging period. The term deposits that will carry higher rates are those with tenors of 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 and 36 months. The standard 6- and 12-month deposits pay 4%.

New interest rates for deposits in lei:

For individuals:

• 1-month deposit: 1.90% (up from 0.90%)
• 3-month deposit: 3.10% (up from 3%)
• 6-month deposit: 4% (up from 3.25%)
• 12-month deposit: 4% (up from 3.75%)
• 24-month deposit: 3.80% (up from 2.60%)

For companies:

• 1-month deposit: 2.05% (up from 0.75%)
• 3-month deposit: 2.25% (up from 0.9%)
• 6-month deposit: 4% (up from 1.25%)
• 12-month deposit: 4% (up from 2%)
• 24-month deposit: 3.30% (up from 2.30%)
• 24-month deposit, variable rate: 2.85% (up from 1.85%)

BT’s deposits and current account balances grew by 16% in 2021 versus 2020, reaching over 102 billion lei.
