Banca Transilvania launches the 5x APIA loan for farmers

Banca Transilvania launches the 5x APIA Loan, designed to finance crop farming and livestock, enabling farmers to obtain up to five times the amount of an annual APIA loan. Thanks to BT’s partnership with the Rural Credit Guarantee Fund (FGCR), clients do not need to provide additional collateral for such loans, as FGCR guarantees cover up to 80% of the financing amount.

These APIA subsidy–backed loans improve farmers’ access to finance by extending the tenor and widening eligibility. Financing is available for 5 years instead of 3, as with the 3x APIA Loan, and it also covers farmers active in livestock.

The new loan, granted on the basis of an APIA certificate and backed by an FGCR guarantee:

  • Amounts to 90% of the APIA subsidy for the next 5 years.
  • Has a competitive interest rate: ROBOR 6M + 2%, plus a 1% arrangement fee and the FGCR guarantee fee.
  • FGCR guarantees cover up to 80% of the financing amount.
  • For farmers who have already taken the 3x APIA Loan – Crop Farming, the bank can increase the facility limit up to the maximum level of the 5x APIA Loan.

Farmers can also apply for a loan online, at finantariagricole.ro.

Sorin Ignat, Director Agribusiness, Banca Transilvania: “This year, BT has extended more than 3,600 loans worth over 2.6 billion lei, of which more than 350 million lei are APIA loans. Our commitment is to help modernise agriculture through financing, specialisation and technology.

Banca Transilvania has over 30,000 agribusiness clients, and total financing to agribusiness clients exceeds 5 billion lei.
