Banca Transilvania is supporting Romania’s bid to enter the Guinness World Records with the largest CPR training session in the world, expected to draw more than 12,000 people. As part of the community, BT encourages an increase in the number of people trained to save lives by administering first aid.

The Record for Life event will take place on Saturday, May 28 this year, at 3:00 p.m., in Bucharest, at the National Arena, and is organized by Asociatia Societatea de Salvare Bucuresti and Serviciul de Ambulanta Bucuresti-Ilfov. For 15 minutes, all participants will watch a video on resuscitation techniques, after which each person will practice the standard CPR procedure for three minutes on a manikin, assisted by medical staff or certified volunteers from the ambulance services. Those under 18 who wish to take part must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is available in two ways:

• On the website www.recordpentruviata.ro, in the “Reserve your place” section

• At the headquarters of Societatea de Salvare Bucuresti, str. Episcop Radu nr. 27, sectorul 2, Bucuresti (in which case you will need to present your ID card or passport).

The first 12,000 people who register on the Record for Life campaign website can join the volunteer program There is a hero in each of you, also supported by Banca Transilvania and currently running in Bucharest. The program sends a message to volunteers’ phones who are within a radius of up to 1,000 m of a person with a health problem, so that one of them can arrive within 5 minutes to provide first aid until the specialist crew arrives.

A previous record for the largest CPR training session in the world was set in Germany in 2013, when 11,840 people took part.
