Banca Transilvania and the European Investment Fund (EIF), part of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group, have signed a guarantee agreement under which BT will provide SMEs with loans totalling approximately EUR 100 million and will manage the second-largest portfolio of this type of financing in Romania.

Transactions guaranteed under this programme benefit from European Union support through the SME Initiative, financed by the European Union via the ERDF and Horizon 2020 and by the European Investment Fund and the European Investment Bank.

As the entrepreneurs’ bank, BT also uses this partnership to facilitate SMEs’ access to loans on favourable terms, encouraging investment, job creation and the development of private enterprise in Romania.

Details:

• Loans will be granted in both RON and EUR.
• Each SME receives a guarantee covering 60% of the loan amount.
• Supporting the creative industries is an important focus of this programme.

To date, through partnerships with the European Investment Bank and the European Investment Fund, Banca Transilvania has granted 5,500 loans to SMEs, with a total value of EUR 255 million.
