Banca Transilvania is once again among the most valuable companies in Romania, in 5th place, up one position from last year, and is the most valuable banking brand.

The ranking was published by Ziarul Financiar and compiled in partnership with BT Capital Partners and Veridio, which carried out the valuation of the banks. This is a journalistic initiative launched in 2006.

According to ZF, the 100 most valuable companies and banks in Romania were valued in 2018 at 367.6 billion lei (78.8 billion euro), up 9% (in euro) from the companies that were in the Top 100 in 2017. The ranking uses market capitalizations for listed companies, while for the others — the majority of the list — it relies on extended financial statements provided, at Ziarul Financiar’s request, by the Trade Registry. For companies listed on the stock exchange, market capitalization as of November 2, 2018 was used.
