Banca Transilvania is launching the BT Kiddo card and the BT Pay Kiddo app for children aged 10 to 14. The bank’s new features help children build positive money-management habits, with guidance from their parents.

BT Kiddo means the following financial management solutions:

• The BT Kiddo card for children, which can be used for POS payments at merchants and cash withdrawals from ATMs
• The BT Pay Kiddo app for children, with the following options:
  • Check the available balance and the transactions made with the card
  • Request and receive money from the parent who has granted permission to use the app (up to RON 500 per day)
  • Pay by phone and withdraw cash at ATMs on Android phones
• A new Kiddo section in BT Pay for parents who have the BT Pay app, with the following features:
  • Request issuance of the BT Kiddo card and their child’s access to the BT Pay app
  • Manage the BT Kiddo card: set transaction limits, lock/unlock the card, top up the card
  • View the child’s account balance and their transactions

“With the launch of the new card for children aged 10 and above, we are completing the BT Pay Kiddo solution, which now caters to children and young people up to 18, with age-appropriate options. Our aim is to build a solid foundation for children’s financial education and independence, under parents’ guidance, giving them the knowledge and tools to understand and manage money responsibly and wisely. Steps to activate the BT Kiddo app and request the card

The BT Kiddo card can be requested by the child’s parent via BT Pay, in the BT Pay Kiddo section. After filling in a few details, they will receive confirmation that the app can be installed from the Store on the child’s phone; the physical card will be delivered to the chosen address, and the digital card will be available in the child’s app immediately after installation.

As a first step, in March this year, Banca Transilvania launched BT Pay Kiddo for teenagers aged 14 to 18, who can use, via the app, a BT card issued in their name with parental consent.
