On Black Friday, November 7, 2025, Banca Transilvania set new records for transactions processed through its payments ecosystem, including cards, apps, POS terminals and ATMs.

BT is Romania’s leading payments processor, reflecting the scale of its business and the significant transaction volumes it handles across its channels. With an extensive and scalable digital infrastructure, the bank supports the growth of online and in-store commerce, keeping transactions flowing even at peak times such as Black Friday.

Banca Transilvania records:

• 11 million transactions in a single day, +14% versus Black Friday 2024.
• Over 700,000 transactions per hour for nine consecutive hours (from 8:00 to 17:00).
• The peak hour was 9:00–10:00, with over 1 million transactions.
• Every second of Black Friday saw 230 transactions processed by BT, peaking at over 500.
• Online purchases in installments up 17% compared to Black Friday 2024.

The largest purchases made with BT cards on Black Friday were premium purchases in the automotive, watches and furniture categories.

BT Pay:

Through the BT Pay app, customers benefit from features that enable fast payments and simplified card management, including instant card issuance and the ability to adjust transaction limits. Compared to Black Friday 2024, the number of transactions made via the Pay with BT Pay option was four times as many, and this feature is now available on 30,000 partner websites.
