Electrifying Experiences from Banca Transilvania at Electric Castle

● #ExperienteElectrice ● #ElectricBank ● #ElectricPeople ●

Banca Transilvania has prepared electric experiences for the roughly 130,000 people expected at Electric Castle, the festival taking place July 12–16 this year, at Bánffy Castle in the village of Bontida, Cluj County.

This year as well, BT is supporting live music through partnerships with Romania’s biggest festivals. In addition to Electric Castle, these are Untold (August 3–6, Cluj-Napoca) and Summer Well (August 12–13, Buftea, Bucharest).

At Electric Castle, the BT Hub is a space for ideas and creative workshops. Hangar by BT is a new stage dedicated to Romanian and international live music. BT Cashless is the festival’s payment system, using the RFID festival wristband as well as the BT contactless bracelet or watch. You can follow BT’s electric experiences for Electric Castle throughout the festival on Banca Transilvania’s Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter pages.

● The BT Hub experience - where good ideas come together

The BT Hub hosts talks and creative workshops led by entrepreneurs and young people with success stories:

  • Cand Binili Invinge (Saturday, July 15, between 14:00 and 15:00): a meet-up with Bogdan Serban, producer and presenter at Radio Guerrilla, where participants can learn about the station’s relaunch;
  • Rime Electrice (Friday, Saturday and Sunday, between 16:00 and 17:00): a rhyming contest with the vloggers from Epic Show;
  • Festival Selfie (Thursday and Saturday, between 17:00 and 18:00): a workshop hosted by photographer Vlad Cupsa;
  • Electric Pixies (Friday, between 17:00 and 19:00): a workshop for flower lovers, hosted by the florist Casa cu Flori. Female participants will have the chance to complete their festival look with flower crowns they will learn to make at Electric Pixies.

Between workshops, the BT Hub is a place to unwind between concerts, and includes the chance to create a festival GIF with a stage backdrop, ready to share on social media. Also at the BT Hub, on Sunday, July 16, the Electric People photo exhibition will showcase images taken at the festival by bloggers Andreea Lupescu and Andreea Retinschi, Banca Transilvania’s guests at Electric Castle.

● The Hangar by BT experience – a new stage at Electric Castle

The Hangar by BT stage is dedicated to quality live music, Romanian and international, across genres. Performing here: Corina Chiriac, Mirabela Dauer, Fanfara Ciocarlia, Suie Paparude, Subcarpati, and more.

● The BT Cashless experience: the festival RFID wristband or the BT contactless bracelet & watch

Festivalgoers will be able to pay at Electric Castle with the RFID festival wristband, which needs to be topped up with the amount they want to spend at the event, either online via the Electric Castle app or at the dedicated top-up points at the festival. Banca Transilvania customers can also pay with the BT contactless watch or bracelet, each of which replaces the payment card for purchases.

  • Bánffy Castle – residence, military hospital, collective farm, historic monument

The story of Bánffy Castle began in 1437, as the residence of one of Transylvania’s noble families, with grounds inspired by the parks at Versailles and Schönbrunn. Over the years, family members made structural and stylistic changes to the property. The last owner of the castle before the communist period was Miklós Bánffy, Count of Losoncz, Hungary’s Foreign Minister. In 1944 the castle was taken over by the Germans and turned into a military hospital, and in 1950 it became an agricultural cooperative, a warehouse and pastureland. In 1990 the castle was listed as a historic monument. In 2009, Countess Katalin Bánffy, the castle’s owner, signed a 49-year concession agreement with the Transylvania Trust Foundation to restore it and, over time, turn it into a cultural center.

Bánffy Castle is now one of the most unconventional festival venues and an integral part of Electric Castle’s brand and authenticity.
