Victoriabank has received EUR 5 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the EU, a loan supported by grants. The loan is an additional opportunity for Victoriabank to support the economy of the Republic of Moldova.

Victoriabank will be able to diversify its lending products, providing clients with access to financing that includes grants and technical assistance” – says Bogdan Pleșuvescu, President of the Management Committee, Victoriabank.   

 “We welcome Moldova’s progress in the banking sector. With the significant improvement in corporate governance and shareholder transparency at Victoriabank, we are resuming lending to this bank. In this way, we aim to broaden access to finance for companies in Moldova” – says Henry Russell, EBRD Director for financial institutions in the Western Balkans, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine.

EBRD is the largest institutional investor in the Republic of Moldova. To date it has invested EUR 1.2 billion in 125 projects across the financial, agrifood and energy sectors, as well as infrastructure.
