Globalworth and BT Capital Partners: Second admission to trading on the Bucharest Stock Exchange of corporate bonds worth EUR 550 million

Globalworth Real Estate Investment Limited, one of the leading real estate investment companies in Central and Eastern Europe, in partnership with BT Capital Partners, a company of the Banca Transilvania Financial Group, announces the second admission to trading on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) of the company’s corporate bonds (symbol GWI25), with a total value of EUR 550 million.

"Over time, Globalworth has successfully concluded a series of landmark transactions that have enabled us to become one of the leading investors in the office market in Romania and Poland. The listing of the company’s first bonds on the Bucharest Stock Exchange last year was a milestone for us and, at the same time, a record for the local market. Today we are announcing a new step in our development: the second admission to trading of the company’s corporate bonds. This is a continuation of our growth plans, through which we aim to become the largest office real estate company in the region, and it again confirms our commitment to continue investing in the local market and to offer the best product to our partners," said Dimitris Raptis, Deputy CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Globalworth.

The total value of the company’s corporate bonds is similar to 2017 (symbol GWI22), namely EUR 550 million, with the funds to be invested in new projects.

"Records are made to be broken or equalled. In this case, Globalworth has matched the record it set last year on the Bucharest Stock Exchange: over half a billion euros in corporate bonds. It is the best example for other companies to look more to the capital market as a source of financing," said Adrian Tanase, CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

"We are pleased to return for the second year in a row alongside our partners at Globalworth with another record bond listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. In this way, BT Capital Partners continues its commitment to increasing financial intermediation in Romania and to developing the Bucharest Stock Exchange," said Paul Prodan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BT Capital Partners.

Globalworth corporate bonds are traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in euro, with settlement carried out directly in euro. For the first time in Romania, starting last year, direct settlement in the single European currency was implemented at the Bucharest Stock Exchange, demonstrating the maturity and development of the local capital market. By implementing the settlement rules and practices used in mature European markets, the Central Depository and the BVB Group contribute significantly to increasing the market’s credibility and attractiveness for foreign investors.

The Globalworth corporate bonds have also been admitted to trading on the regulated market of the Irish Stock Exchange.
