Banca Transilvania Financial Group reaches agreement with Autonom for the sale of BT Operational Leasing
The Banca Transilvania Financial Group and Autonom announce the signing of a sale and purchase agreement for 100% of the shares in BT Operational Leasing (BTOL). Under this agreement, BT is exiting an area that is secondary to its core business, while Autonom will reach 500 employees, around 5,000 corporate clients and a fleet of over 8,000 vehicles.
At the same time, Banca Transilvania and Autonom will establish a partnership through which BT clients will have access to an expanded mobility services package, including operating lease, fleet management, roadside assistance, car rentals and chauffeur-driven rentals.
“We are pleased that we managed to grow a business in a challenging niche, operational leasing. BT Operational Leasing has become one of the main players in the local operating lease and fleet management market. We are confident the business will develop even further thanks to Autonom’s capabilities,” said Ömer Tetik, Chief Executive Officer, Banca Transilvania.
“This transaction shows that sustainable local businesses can be built. We are honored to have this partnership with Romania’s leading financial group, the Banca Transilvania Group. We will continue to work with passion to provide innovative and reliable services to our local and international clients,” added Dan Stefan, Managing Partner, Autonom.
The transaction, expected to close this year following approval by the Competition Council, was advised by BT Capital Partners, the investment banking division of the Banca Transilvania Financial Group and Oaklins’ exclusive member in Romania, and by Wolf Theiss on behalf of BT Investment, and by RTPR Allen & Overy on behalf of Autonom.
