Banca Transilvania Financial Group Recognized for Supporting Romania’s Capital Market

Banca Transilvania Financial Group received three awards from the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) for last year’s performance. Two awards went to Banca Transilvania — Most traded stock on BVB’s main market in 2019 and Issuer with the largest increase in liquidity in 2019 — and one to BT Capital Partners, Most active intermediary on the primary market of BVB’s regulated market in 2019.

The BT Group was represented at the event by Mihaela Nadasan, Deputy CEO, Financial Institutions and Markets, Banca Transilvania, and by Daniela Secara, CEO, BT Capital Partners.

Mihaela Nadasan, Deputy CEO, Financial Institutions and Markets, Banca Transilvania: “Banca Transilvania has been, and remains, one of the most prolific issuers in the story of Romania’s stock market. As a bank, we have grown together with the capital market for 23 years.”

BT & the capital market:

  • Banca Transilvania has 32,000 shareholders and over 64% Romanian capital.
  • This year BT achieved the maximum score in the assessment conducted by the Romanian Investor Relations Association. Vektor is the investor communication indicator, calculated based on 15 criteria, and is displayed on the pages of the companies assessed on the BVB website.
  • BT is the first banking institution in Romania to have been listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (1997).
  • The bank is the longest-standing issuer in the BET index — the first index developed by the Romanian stock exchange, also in 1997 — which reflects the performance of the most traded companies on BVB’s main market.
  • Banca Transilvania Financial Group entered the investment banking market four years ago.
  • BT Leasing is the second company in the Banca Transilvania Financial Group to use the financing mechanisms of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. BTL bonds started trading on the regulated market operated by the Bucharest Stock Exchange in 2019.
  • BT Capital Partners is the largest retail broker in the country, the exclusive Oaklins member in Romania.
  • The bank is involved in building entrepreneurial culture and capital market awareness as a partner in projects such as Made in Romania and Investing Romania.
  • As of this year, Banca Transilvania became a member and partner of the Romanian Investor Relations Association (ARIR).
