Horia Ciorcilă, Chairman of the Board of Directors and one of the founders of Banca Transilvania, was awarded the Nihil Sine Deo decoration by the Romanian Royal Family at a ceremony held at Peleș Castle, in Sinaia, on March 11 this year.

Laudatio – Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown: 

To Mr Horia Ciorcilă, 

for his entire banking career, during which he played an essential role in the founding and development of Banca Transilvania, the strongest Romanian privately owned bank. 

For steering Banca Transilvania, throughout his career, towards promoting Romanian values and supporting local development initiatives through corporate social responsibility, contributing generously to the projects and programmes of My House, for the benefit of the country and local communities.  
The decoration may be awarded to a maximum of 200 living individuals, institutions and organisations

The Royal Decoration Nihil Sine Deo is bestowed, by decision of the Sovereign of the Royal House of Romania, on individuals, institutions and organisations with outstanding achievements. Each year, recipients celebrate Decoration Day on April 20 - the birthday of King Carol (1839) and, at the same time, the day on which he was elected Ruler of the United Romanian Principalities (1866) -, as a symbol of the continuity and tradition of the Royal House.
