Microgrants for Entrepreneurs through Banca Transilvania

Online registration has started for the second session of the Microgrants measure funded from non-reimbursable external funds, worth EUR 2,000, and entrepreneurs can choose Banca Transilvania as their partner bank. The funds may be used for a range of expenses, such as inventories of raw materials, supplies, merchandise, current payables, overdue payables, rent, etc.
BT is the main bank in the 2014 – 2020 Competitiveness Operational Programme, launched last year. Under Measure 1, Banca Transilvania is supporting 11,340 companies, with 60% of those enrolled in the program choosing BT.
What Banca Transilvania offers entrepreneurs who enroll in the program:
- For BT customers, the bank will automatically open the grant sub-account after receiving the list of applicants from the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism;
- Businesses that choose BT but are not Banca Transilvania customers can open a current account online (NEOcont business). Companies automatically benefit from Internet & Mobile Banking services. After the current account is opened, the bank will automatically open the grant sub-account as soon as it receives the list of applicants from the ministry;
- Zero fees for all transactions to/from the BT grant sub-account.
Who is eligible for microgrants:
- Microenterprises and SMEs that can prove they had no employees under an individual employment contract as at December 31, 2019;
- Sole traders (PFA)/sole proprietorships/family enterprises/NGOs or other professionals, under Article 3(2) of Law No. 287/2009 — the Civil Code, carrying out economic activity in one of the fields listed in Annex 1 to Government Emergency Ordinance 130;
- PFAs/individual medical practices involved in the transport, equipping, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with COVID-19.
Funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and the registration form remains open for 30 days, with a possible extension depending on the budget allocated by the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism for this measure.
